Opal Currents (2021)

For sinfonietta with moving image 1111 1110 perc 1 harp strings (minimum: 2’2’2’2’1); Written for the Curtis Symphony Orchestra. Accompanying film directed by Julian Elia.

Performance History:

  • Recorded by members of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra lead by Jacob Niemann. Released in spring 2021.


Concerto for Cello and Orchestra (2020)

Written for Zuill Bailey. To be premiered on April 20, 2022 by the National Philharmonic Orchestra at Strathmore Hall.

13’ for piano trio. Written as winner of the Juilliard Gena Raps Chamber Music Prize.

Performance History:

  • Premiered by Emma Meinrenken, Matthew Christakos, and Thomas Weaver at the Curtis Institute in December 2021.

  • Performed by KJ McDonald, Derek Louie, and Tengku Irfan at Alice Tully Hall in April 2022.


Sonata for Trombone and Piano, “Vox Populi/Humana” (2019)

15’ for trombone and piano. Commissioned by Joseph Alessi and the Alessi Seminar Asia.

Performance History:

  • Premiered by Mr. Alessi on-tour in Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai July 6-10, 2019.

  • Performed by Mr. Alessi on-tour in Japan (Tokyo, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Hyogo) in October 2019.

  • Winner, 2021 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award
